This poster was created by MA student Meghann Meeusen for the WMU Research Day Competition and for my graphic novels course. Meghann's poster won a Research Day Award.
In class this week, we'll begin our final unit: the development of a poster presentation on a key term or concept related to English Studies. At the beginning of class, Dr. Richard Utz will provide an overview of the history of English Studies, and then I'll talk to you about the poster presentation assignment. As a preview, here are the documents that I'll be handing out in class:
1. Download Guide to Creating a Poster Presentation
2. Download Abstract for Poster Presentation
3. Download Word Document Draft of Sample Poster Presentation
4. Download Powerpoint Version of Poster Presentation
5. Download PDF Version of Poster Presentation
Once you've had a chance to learn about the assignment, you'll get to brainstorm with your group and take advantage of the assistance of a number of English Studies professors who will serve as consultants during the class session. The goal is for your team to have a clear idea of your project by the end of class and to spend the week between November 4th and November 11th working on your posters.
